The church was built during the reconstruction of the village following the 1905 earthquake. St. Andrew the Apostle’s houses an eighteenth-century polychrome wooden bust of the Saint, patron of Parghelia.

The main facade, which stands out from the side naves, has rectangular door surmounted by a broken pediment. There are also two side doors that are surmounted by rosettes. The bell tower is set to the left of the church. Inside there are three aisles.

Behind the main altar in polychrome marble is a fine mosaic depicting the martyrdom of St. Andrew.

The feast of the Saint is celebrated on November 30 and, during the vigil, it is traditional to throw chestnuts from the bell tower.
