Paleontology Museum
Via Trento, Parghelia
The museum was first opened in July 2005, thanks to the initiative of some enthusiasts who are interested in enhancing, protecting, and making the vast paleontological heritage of the province of Vibo Valentia known to more people.
The museum is located in the school building of Parghelia on Via Trento. It is one of the most important paleontological exhibitions in the region, where it is possible to admire one of the largest collections of clypeaster fossils of various species.
There are also fossil remains of marine and terrestrial fauna, unique in Italy, some of which are still under study. There is also a detailed description of the provincial territory from a geo-paleontological point of view, along with scientific data collected and published in various specialist-sector magazines, all curated and managed by G.P.T.
